4/21/2025: We recently had our seasonal A/C service with Elkhorn’s Gold Plan. Bryan arrived punctually and expertly performed the inspection and service. Discovering he did not have the specific model furnace air filter with him, he went to the local home improvement store to obtain one. Throughout the service call Bryan was pleasant and efficient. “My poor rating does not reflect the A/C system itself, the A/C works fine, it better, it’s brand new. When Elkhorn came over to do the estimate they told me it would be best to relocate the system to another side of the house for efficiency but that they would need to run new lines from the new location and in doing so would need to cut holes in our basement ceiling to run the lines. I was uncomfortable with this but in the end agreed after being told the holes in the ceiling would be minimal, 4-6 inches in size and that there would be 2-3 holes. So I specifically asked them to salvage the cutout pieces so I could replace them. One of the holes was 27 inches by 18 inches and the other was 8X11 inches. I called the guy who did the estimate explaining my disappointment asking if he remembered my request to which he did and he said “I’ll take care of it.” and he delivered all the broken pieces to my house. It was like putting together a puzzle. I had to hire someone to repair the holes at an extra cost to me.
I also checked the filter location to see what the filter size might’ve changed to and noticed they had put in an old used filter. This was a day and a half after the installation was completed and the filter was absolutely covered in dirt. No way a filter gets that dirty in a day and a half.
They also cut out a new cold air return in a wall but they didn’t clean up the drywall dust left in carpet or baseboards.
All in all it’s finished, cleared inspection and best of all it works.”
